I first read the title story in another box set earlier this year; when I saw this set, I jumped at the chance to read it, so I borrowed it on Kindle Unlimited (and loved it so much I bought it). This story progresses very nicely; each story picks up within a few weeks of the previous one, and the continuity is excellent. Subject matters go from loving and tender to disturbing in the extreme, and deal with everything from slavery (the initial condition of most of the Omega wolves when the series begins), sexuality, prejudice (racial as well as gender bias is explored very thoroughly) and abuse (sexual as well as physical). The issues are treated with kid gloves in many cases, yet are issues which are real in our society (from kidnapping, rape and torture to runaway children escaping from adult predators and the fears of those children that they will never be safe again). The main characters, Danny and Mike love each other very much. That love is tested in many ways; insecurity is a common thread throughout the set, as is betrayal by those who should be one's strongest supporters (fathers, in most cases), and Mike and Danny find that their love is strong enough to carry them through...and to overcome the doubts and prejudices of their respective parents and upbringing. Throughout the story, the theme that love can overcome any obstacle stays true, and the couple create a Pack which is more family than anything else, with each member of the pack loved and appreciated for who they are more than what they can contribute. This is a wonderful set, and I recommend it highly...the writing is good, and the storytelling is amazing; Thank you, Preston, for this wonderful box set...I'm looking forward to reading your stories for many years to come
